Modular geocellular structures can be used for the control and management
of surface water. Most cellular structures are designed to withstand vertical
loads of up to 40 tonnes meaning it makes the perfect solution for attenuation
or soakaway applications in light trafficked areas. Modular cells are
assembled together to form a structure of any shape of size to hold water
either from roofs, gutters or surface drains.
Key Benefits
The modular structure can then be wrapped in an impermeable membrane (attenuation)
or permeable membrane (infiltration) to control the surface water entering
the tank. The units are lightweight and easy to handle and have unique
rounded corners to prevent punctures to the membrane during the installation
process. With the use of a silt trap and Flow Control device, sediments
can be removed before entering the tanks and then discharged at a set
rate.
Other types of cells for soakaway and attenuation designs are available
An attenuation cell is generally (simply put) A square or rectangular trench in the ground, lined with a 115 gramme-300 gramme fleece, non woven membrane which protects from puncturing a non-permeable membrane which wraps a cellular structure formed generally using specially designed crates of varying load bearing capacities, appropriate to desired use. A silt trap is placed prior to the trench to stop debis entry 'silting up' the structure. A flow control device at the exit point regulates the volume of water that comes out of the trench

Polystorm crate
Polystorm and Polystorm Lite are lightweight modular water storage cells with a high void ratio that can be used for either attenuation or infiltration of stormwater in residential, commercial, industrial and retail applications. The system facilitates quick and easy assembly on site where multiple configurations can be formed from standard stock items. A full range of silt traps, flow control units and adaptors complete the system.

Polystorm 'R'
The new Polystorm-R modular cell is produced from carefully researched and selected recycled materials to provide an environmentally-friendly solution to surface water drainage and storage applications. Meeting the same performance criteria as Polystorm, Polystorm-R has a 40 tonne per square metre compression strength and is ideal for light trafficked and pedestrian applications

Stormpod
A fully sustainable alternative to existing crate/box type systems. Having a fully accessible 315 mm dry weather channel running through it , making jetting and cleaning simple. The Stormpod’s shape and design strength make it an uncompromising lightweight alternative to larger diameter concrete pipes. Being able to be installed in granular surround in the most difficult of ground conditions, such as high water tables and running sand. With a simple connection, it can be installed quickly and effectively with the minimum of plant and labour, competing favourably with heavier pipe and plastic twin wall systems. It’s simple but very effective sealing system takes a huge amount of labour and expense ensuring you make a watertight seal on every joint. With the Stormpod there is no need for caulking, welding, membranes or expensive band seal couplings.

Fleece membrane
Non-woven geotextiles are manufactured by extruding continuous polypropylene filaments into short staple fibers, for processing on one of several non-woven lines. Each line involves the continuous laying of fibers onto a moving conveyor belt to form an unbound web. This web passes along the conveyor to be either mechanically bonded (needle-punched) or thermally (heat) bonded. After bonding, the finished product is wound into a roll.
NW8 fleece membrane, sold in rolls 5.2 metres x 100 metres (520m2)
used in small infiltration and attenuation systems
NW25 fleece membrane, sold in rolls 5.2 metres x 100 metres (520m2)
used in larger, more commercial infiltration and attenuation systems
Non permeable membranes
Impermeable geomembranes used in stormwater storage systems are subjected
to very high hydrostatic pressures during the lifetime of the system.
To avoid geomembrane failure in these demanding applications Visqueen
Building Products have designed a high performance geomembrane system.
The Visqueen Urban Drainage Geomembrane System has been comprehensively
tested to ensure that it is capable of withstanding the hydrostatic pressures
anticipated with underground stormwater storage facilities thereby providing
an effective impermeable barrier for most stormwater management applications

Visqueen 0.5mm Urban Drainage Geomembrane (UDG) single roll (size 12.5 x 4m)
Visqueen GX GeoMembrane 1mm single roll (size 5.9x200m)
The Hydro-Valve Flow Control is a self-activating vortex flow control device that provides superior hydraulic performance over conventional flow regulators with features that reduce maintenance requirements. Hydro-Valve Flow Controls harness the energy inherent in the flow field. They have no moving parts and no external energy requirements.
With clear openings up to 600% larger than conventional flow control devices, the risk of blockage is reduced to a minimum. In addition, the unique head/discharge characteristics with high flush and kick-back flow points, reduce storage volume requirements, lowering project costs.
Key Advantages:
No power requirements
Self-activating and self-cleansing
Reduces first flush impact on CSO screens
Reduces upstream storage volume requirements
Highest performing passive flow control available
Full access for rodding and jetting
Simple installation

Back flow prevention valve
A Non Return Valve effectively prevents against backflow into a rainwater, attenuation or storage tank. It operates fully automatically with no external power supply required. The Valve is manufactured from high quality polypropylene and is provided with an overhaul closure lever; by lifting the lever to position 'b' the valve is closed in both directions. It also has a removable lid for easy maintenance and meets the EN13564 standards.
Dimensions:
DN100
Length 287mm
Width 266mm
Height 188mm
